Handlung (Spekulationen) Die frischgeschiedene Sarah und ihre Tochter Elissa wollen ein ganz neues Kapitel aufschlagen und lassen deswegen ihr altes Leben hinter sich. Zu ihrem Glück finden sie auf Anhieb ein Haus, das genau ihren Vorstellungen entspricht. Es liegt in einem kleinen abgelegenen Ort, in den sich die beiden sofort verlieben. Dann aber geschehen merkwürdige Dinge und sie bekommen heraus, dass die Stadt ein dunkles Geheimnis birgt. Vor wenigen Jahren passierte in ihrem Nachbarhaus ein schrecklicher Mord. Die Tochter der Familie töte ihre Eltern im Schlaf und verschwand daraufhin spurlos - zurück blieb nur ihr Bruder Ryan, der seitdem alleine dort wohnt. Elissa und Ryan kommen sich trotz dieses schrecklichen Ereignisses näher, auch gegen den Willen ihrer Mutter. Doch je tiefer die Beziehung der beiden jungen Menschen wird, desto stärker werden sie in eine unheimliche Situation gezogen, welche gefährlicher ist, als sie es sich je vorstellen können.
