One fan of Diablo 4 decided to give players of Blizzard's smash-hit action RPG a helping hand, creating a map highlighting all of the side quests that lead to dungeons in the game. Following Judge Jaqueline Scott Corley's ruling in favor of Diablo 4 Items Microsoft's acquisition of Activision earlier this week some gamers had been speculating about the possibility of Xbox bringing Diablo 4 to Game Pass, though there don't appear to be any plans to do so at the moment.
Released over a decade after the last numbered entry in the franchise, Blizzard's Diablo 4 arrived amidst massive hype in June. Retaining some of the quality-of-life improvements and gameplay mechanics from Diablo 3 while returning to Diablo 2's darker art style, Diablo 4 attempts to blend the best parts of the games that preceded it. While Blizzard's efforts to streamline the game by incorporating elements of its predecessors have been generally well-received, some players have expressed frustration at the fact that some quality-of-life features are missing in Diablo 4 despite being present in previous entries.
Diablo 4 Player Deals Undecillions of Damage in One Hit
Hoping to give players a bit of a helping hand ahead of Season 4, Redditor Tesdey posted a map to r/diablo4 highlighting all of the Diablo 4 side quests leading to dungeons. Created from an earlier post by another Redditor that listed out all of the locations in text, Tesdey's map should come in handy for those looking to increase their renown and fill their inventory with dungeon loot in Diablo 4. In addition to often playing home to more challenging combat than in the game's overworld, conquering Diablo 4's dungeons also rewards players with new Aspects that can be added onto equipment to upgrade their character.
Redditors responding to Tesdey's post appreciated their effort in putting the map together, with one amusing reply stating, "As a procrastinator who plans on doing his renown like a paper the night before it's due, you're doing God's work." Another reply took the opportunity to take a swipe at the constant refrain from some high-level Diablo 4 players that the game lacks content, joking that they'll use the map to complete Season 4 on the first day before returning to Reddit to complain that there's nothing to do. Other Redditors were simply disappointed to learn that they'll be required to complete the dungeons again for renown in Season 4.
For Diablo 4 players more concerned with clearing out the map than discovering things organically, Tesdey's post should prove remarkably helpful. But even with the knowledge gleaned from this handy map, players may still want to ensure they're adequately buffed before taking on one of Diablo 4's Tier 100 Nightmare Dungeons.
Making good on its promise to deliver the first additional content for Diablo 4 in "mid-to-late July", Blizzard has revealed the first season of Diablo 4 as Season of the Malignant. Season of the Malignant is set to begin on July 20, with new seasonal rewards, cosmetics, and challenges all up for grabs across the world of Sanctuary. However, whether one has been playing Diablo 4 since June 1 or just picked up the title in anticipation of the first live-service content drop, there are plenty of things that will be helpful to do ahead of the season's beginning given how Diablo 4 will approach its seasonal content.
While several other live-service titles have utilized the seasonal model for their regular content drops and updates, there aren't many that approach seasons in the same way that Diablo does. In titles like Destiny 2, players can carry their legacy characters from season to season, accruing rewards and building progress at the beginning of each using the same build. Diablo 4, much like Diablo 3, requires players to use new "Seasonal" characters that are created at the beginning of each season, which then become "Eternal" characters that can be played outside the current seasonal content. Without being able to use a favorite character build that's carried players for over a month, here are some key preparations to be made ahead of July 20.
Make Sure to Get At Least One Character Through the Campaign of Diablo 4
Without being able to carry the Eternal characters that players have been using since the launch of Diablo 4, it may raise the question of how players are expected to be able to dive right in to the seasonal content beginning July 20. Since it will be necessary to create a new Seasonal character at the beginning of the season, that hero would of course need to complete the campaign before being able to access the endgame where the seasonal content takes place. The solution to this problem is to make sure that at least one character has made it through the main story quest line of Diablo 4 ahead of Season of buy d4 mats the Malignant's launch.
